Arab merchants while traveling in the desert, consumed wheat flour. To avoid the hassle of carrying the flour and then cooking it,

they came up with the idea of mixing the flour with water and drying it well before their trips.

Gradually they learned that a mixture of water and flour will dry faster if the pieces were hollow.

That is how Macaroni was created.
